in the Loire Valley
I grew up in Loire-Atlantique, near Nantes. My taste for photography was born by the sea (with about 850 photos of rocks, waves, waves on rocks, etc. Don't judge me, I was ten). I then did photography for years before making it my profession.
Today, I regularly come back to Loire-Atlantique, and more widely to the Pays de la Loire, to accompany brides and grooms.
Terms and conditions for photography services in the Pays de la Loire
My wedding services start at 1700€ and only concern photography. It's a question I'm often asked, but I don't do video, because I've seen how different it is from my job, and I must admit that I would be very -well- bad, if I had to film an event instead of photographing it! On the other hand, I regularly work alongside videographers and even other photographers on events: just like with the bride and groom, good communication allows everyone to work in harmony!
The number of hours spent on an event determines the type of service, and even if I have standard packages, I regularly adapt them for weddings with a specific schedule (my record is a 17h day). The details of the service are defined with the bride and groom, and can change even after we have agreed to work together (it is not unusual for the schedule to change a lot during the wedding preparations!) Travel expenses are also included in the service and discussed in full transparency with the bride and groom during the preparatory discussions.
My wedding photography services in the Pays de la Loire
I work most often in the Loire-Atlantique region, but I can also travel to the departments of Mayenne, Sarthe, Vendée or Maine-et-Loire, depending on the wishes of the bride and groom I accompany!
My approach to wedding photography
The way I work as a wedding photographer mirrors what I was looking for as a bride-to-be. I know, having experienced it myself, how much a wedding day can become a maelstrom of emotions, shared between joy, excitement, stress, grief sometimes, nervousness, anxiety, etc. It is normal to live every moment very intensely going through a day we have prepared sometimes for months, even more than a year for some brides and grooms!
You don't realise it until you're living it, but your wedding photographer is one of the most present people at the bride and groom's side on their wedding day. I have seen, as a bride and as a photographer, how important it can be to have someone attentive and caring by your side on a day as intense as a wedding. In order to minimise the stress or anxiety of the bride and groom, I talk to them as much as necessary before the wedding in order to gradually create a bond of trust and communication, which is essential for me to be by their side in the most efficient way possible on the big day.
As far as photo technique is concerned, I prefer spontaneous and natural photos (people are infinitely more at ease when we don't ask them to do poses that they would never do naturally). The only time I am more present to guide the bride and groom is during the couple sessions, where it is often reassuring to have someone who "knows how to do it" to be able to relax and enjoy the moment!
The Pays de la Loire: the land of my first steps as a photographer
Growing up near Nantes, I spent many weekends walking along the seaside or eating my weight in ice cream from the Fraiseraie on the port of Pornic. As far as photography is concerned, seaside landscapes were obviously my first subjects. My taste for photography was born in Loire-Atlantique. This region continued to play a role in my career as a photographer, as I met my wedding photographer there. Amandine trained me and taught me the specificities of the job.
I covered my first weddings as a photographer alongside Amandine. I returned to the seaside since I went to weddings in Brittany with her. She trained me and I only started my professional activity after she had validated my technical skills. She still advises me so that I can continue to evolve and improve the quality of my work.
My first steps as a professional photographer were made here. Today, I have the chance to work as a wedding photographer and to travel throughout the Loire-Atlantique and Nantes regions as well as the vast Pays de la Loire region.
Knowing yourselves to trust each other
Every contact with a couple starts with a meeting: at my home (which gives me an excuse to make cakes) or by telephone. These talks are essential for me to understand the wishes of the bride and groom, but above all to ensure that they feel confident with me. It is impossible to commit to such an important service without taking the time to check that we are all on the same wavelength!
